On January 6th, 2024, the Man O’War Nigeria, Lagos State Command, led by Commander Mr. Lucky W. Onimowo, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund. The Commander, accompanied by four other Deputy Superintendent of Man O’War (DSMs), praised the Fund for its commitment to enhancing safety and security in the State through various security interventions. 

During the visit, the Commander provided insights into the structure and operations of the Man O’War in Nigeria, emphasizing its voluntary and charitable nature. He explained that the organization’s membership is drawn from the general public and highlighted the extensive network of command units across the states, including Lagos State.

The Commander also discussed ongoing projects at Lagos State University aimed at training and empowering students. He requested support from the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, Dr. Abdurrazaq Balogun, for security facilities and equipment to improve operational efficiency.

In response, Dr. Balogun expressed appreciation for the visit and reiterated the Fund’s dedication to ensuring general security in the State. He sought clarification on the recognition of the Man O’War by the Federal Government of Nigeria and discussions on improving the organization’s operational structure within the security parastatals in Lagos State.

Dr. Balogun emphasized that while the Man O’War is not within the LSSTF’s mandate, the Fund is open to supporting legitimate security organizations working towards peace in Lagos State. He advised the Man O’War to be mindful of their interactions with recognized agencies such as the Nigerian Police and LASTMA.

In conclusion, Dr. Balogun assured the Man O’War of unwavering support and encouraged them to continue their efforts in ensuring the safety and security of all in Lagos State. The Commander presented a Lapel of recognition to acknowledge Dr. Balogun for receiving them during the courtesy visit.
