Mr. Segun Agbaje – Member, Board of Trustees

Segun Agbaje started his working career with Ernst & Young, San Francisco, United States of America (USA), as an auditor. He subsequently joined Guaranty Trust Bank as a pioneer staff in 1991 and rose through the ranks to become an Executive Director in January 2000, and Deputy Managing Director in August 2002.

He was appointed Acting Managing Director in April 2011 and was named substantial MD/CEO of the Bank in June 2011.

Mr. Agbaje who is well known for his eloquence, has been very instrumental to various giant strides achieved by GTBank in particular and the Nigerian Banking Industry in general.

Under his leadership, GTBank evolved into the most profitable financial institution in Nigeria creating employment for thousands.

He received may accolades including the African Banker of the Year at African Banker Awards – 2012 and 2016 also Banker of the Year (Africa) at World Finance Awards – 2017 and 2018
